    Position Profile

    This opportunity is available in Dublin, Ireland.

    The Associate Director, Finance will be responsible for all facets of Gross-to-Net (GTN) revenue deduction accounting within Jazz Pharmaceuticals. The Associate Director, Finance will also be a key member of the finance project management group and will be expected to contribute in many other ways such as supporting strategic projects and making recommendations to the organisation about strategy and initiatives.


    The role will have 2 core responsibilities:

    • To manage the GTN revenue deduction reporting process; and
    • To manage strategic and corporate projects and initiatives from inception through to completion.

    The Associate Director, Finance will manage the GTN revenue deduction reporting process and will ensure that the company’s accounting records, internal controls as well as policies and procedures are maintained, adhere to US GAAP and uphold the integrity of the financial statements. This position will also work closely with Commercial and Financial functions and needs to understand all facets of products and lifecycle within the pharmaceutical industry. This will require:

    • Analysing GTN revenue deductions by product and review of same;
    • Review revenue deduction impact analysis (product launch, price erosion, returns, pricing decision support);
    • Review and lead a cross-functional collaboration to estimate GTN rates;
    • Interact proactively with related functional areas to ensure appropriate revenue accounting and financial reporting; and
    • Remain current with developments in the industry, and in the various areas of company operations, as they pertain to the revenue function.

    The Associate Director, Finance will also manage strategic and corporate projects and initiatives from inception through to completion. This will require:

    • A passion for working on and learning about strategic and corporate initiatives;
    • An ability to quickly understand and work with colleagues to develop solutions to the key operational challenges;
    • Ability to manage cross-functional deliverables that span multiple organizations across Jazz Pharmaceuticals;
    • An ability to work cross functionally directly with senior executives on time sensitive projects;
    • Enthusiasm to take on a diverse array of projects, ranging in complexity and team size, and to collaborate with a broad spectrum of internal and external colleagues; and
    • An innovative attitude to problem solving and a willingness to go outside the comfort zone
    • Ability to utilize influencing skills with Senior executives and other critical stakeholders effectively

    Other focus areas for the role will be

    • Financial analysis required to support the development and delivery of strategy throughout the business.
    • Manage post-acquisition integration and transition processes by ensuring that cross-functional teams are all executing on their respective M&A integration plans
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key leaders of operating units within the company
    • Prepare executive ready presentations with strategic framing, analysis and recommendations.
    • Actively coaches and mentors others on the team in the development of problem solving, decision making, and critical-thinking skills

    • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, and ACA or equivalent qualification a must, with more than five years post qualified experience experience in dynamic international organisations
    • Strong analytical and financial skills, with solid experience in modelling and valuation.
    • Big 4 Experience and Biotech and/or Pharmaceutical experience an advantage
    • Bring a strong executive presence and business insight. Ability to work directly with senior business leaders
    • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to work with a diverse team and influence/drive change across functional and business boundaries.
    • Strong analytical skills, including superior financial modeling, Excel, and financial database systems skills/knowledge (SAP BPC, Host Analytics, Hyperion Planning, or similar).
    • Good project management capabilities and proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Demonstrated results in contributing to complex, cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders
    • Ability to work independently across multiple groups in a rapidly changing environment
    • Comfortable working under deadlines and producing key deliverables
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
