    Position Profile

Jazz has a diverse portfolio of meaningful products that address unmet medical needs in the therapeutic areas of sleep and hematology/oncology.

    Primary Objective/ Purpose of Position:

This position will have responsibility for achieving optimal patient access for products in the company’s newly established sleep medicine business unit outside of the US.

The person in this hands-on role will be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of a wide range of both conventional and highly innovative market access solutions.  The person in this position will work face-to-face with payers and other external stakeholders, country-level teams, global HEOR, medical and commercial functions.  A key part of this role will be to advise the wider organisation on the optimal market access strategy for Jazz’s sleep portfolio and to contribute to new product planning for future CNS targets.

This is a new role in a newly established regional business unit which has ambitious goals to reach in the next three years.  The role would be well-suited to a detail-oriented self-starter who likes autonomy, collaboration, and a “start-up” environment, and who can handle the ambiguity common in fast-growing companies.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Serve as a core member of the European launch team for Solriamfetol, an investigational medicine for the treatment of excessive sleepiness (ES) in adult patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) or narcolepsy.
    • Seek and develop insights about payers and related stakeholders, and, using these insights, develop thoughtful, high-impact tactics and strategies for obtaining and maintaining optimal market access at the national, regional and local level.  While the focus in the near-term is Northwestern Europe and Canada, the role covers ex-US.
    • Support and advise HEOR in the generation of data required to demonstrate value:  Consensus-building, utility mapping, novel endpoints, registry design, country database analysis, defining burden of illness and unmet need, etc.
    • Work closely with local teams to drive and coordinate the activities required to attain access:  local stakeholder engagement, understanding of local access environment, ad boards, scoping of work for local access consultants, scenario-planning, and coaching teams on engagement with payers, etc.
    • Work with HEOR to coordinate, prepare and submit pricing and reimbursement dossiers, liaising between global and local teams, and coordinating communication with national authorities.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders in the CNS field.
    • Work cross-functionally to ensure fluency in the core value proposition and in how it is customized.

    Additional responsibilities:

    • Support the Business Analysis and Insights team in the analysis of CNS business development opportunities, taking responsibility for assessing pricing and access potential.
    • Actively participate in relevant industry meetings and conferences.
    • Maintain a strong network of high-quality market access vendors and contractors.
    • Support the brand teams in the development and implementation of market access-related communication materials.

    Essential Qualifications and Experience:

    • A detailed understanding of at least one large European country’s pricing and reimbursement environment, and a working knowledge of others.
    • Understanding and familiarity gained in country-level pricing policies, of the health technology assessment agencies, funding and reimbursement institutes.
    • Experience gained in stakeholder research, portfolio planning, medical research writing, pricing strategy, value communications, economic modelling and supporting a launch strategy.
    • A high level of numeracy, with the ability to rapidly assimilate and translate complex problems into practical and deliverable solutions.
    • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to deliver across a number of fast-paced and demanding parallel projects.
    • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to challenge when appropriate.
    • Excellent presentation skills.
    • The role is Oxford-based and would require some travel, particularly to Northern Europe, Canada, and occasionally to the US West Coast.
