    Position Profile

    Jazz Pharmaceuticals is an international biopharmaceutical company focused on improving patients’ lives by identifying, developing, and commercializing meaningful products that address unmet medical needs.

    The Associate Director, Training Lead will define and implement the training strategy for the commercial and medical field teams across EURoW. The position will be responsible for the design and execution of a forward-thinking strategic and practical learning through product and therapeutic training (Core and Advanced), selling skills curricula, communication skills and presentation skills.

    The candidate will be responsible for systematically assessing the training needs to help ensure the building of employee skills and knowledge. This person will be a strategic leader as well as a hands-on training specialist.

    The individual will report to the EU RoW Head of Operations

    Essential Functions

    • Evaluate the effectiveness of current training programs and provide strategic direction for the planning, design, development and implementation of training modules/materials and programs for new product launches
    • Proactively assess knowledge gaps (current and future) within the field teams.
    • Collaborate with leadership to establish training initiatives that translate strategy and tactics of the brand teams into actionable behaviour by the field.
    • Work with the appropriate internal partners to develop programs to address the gaps in a timely manner.
    • Design and implement Key Account Management capabilities and aligned competencies framework
    • Lead, develop and manage one training manager to implement the training and skills modules
    • Hands on approach to help write, edit, and produce effective training documents.
    • Work collaboratively with sales, marketing, regulatory, legal and compliance to coordinate the design, and then directing the development of training workshops to support the Kick off and Mid-year meetings.
    • Understand the culture and values of the organization and champion both the department's and the company's vision.
    • Engage with cross functional departments to ensure quality and compliance standards are met (HR, Regulatory, Marketing, Medical, Commercial and Compliance)

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Proven pharmaceutical or bio-pharmaceutical training experience (ideally with exposure to orphan disease and/or Haematology/Oncology therapeutic area) required
    • Experience writing and developing training programs and materials, with a particular emphasis on product training.
    • Experience within a training department with a successful record of delivering quality and innovative training solutions in a learning environment.
    • Demonstrated knowledge, experience and success in training individuals across multiple geographies and cultures
    • Experience working in a highly regulated environment: Understands legal and compliance issues facing a pharmaceutical organization. Has worked extensively with Sales Management, Medical affairs Legal, Regulatory and Marketing, on Compliance training.
    • Understands field based and internal employee job responsibilities.
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
    • Vendor and contract negotiation skills.
    • Ability to travel as needed, usually within Europe/US.  During certain intervals, travel may be significant.

    Required/Preferred Education and Licenses

    • Pharm D, PhD, MSC preferred OR in BSc with appropriate professional experience
    • Track record of increasing responsibility in pharmaceutical and/or bio-pharmaceutical sales and/or management in addition to experience within the corporate office environment. 

    Description of Physical Demands

    • Responsibilities may require working outside of “normal” hours, in order to meet business demands.
