Position Profile

Jazz Pharmaceuticals is an international biopharmaceutical company focused on improving patients' lives by identifying, developing and commercialising meaningful products that address unmet medical needs, with haematology as a major strategic pillar for the company.

Reporting to the Brand Director - Haematology, and as a principal partner in the brand team, the successful candidate will be responsible for strategic and operational marketing plans in EU / RoW, will be required to act as the Product Champion responsible for effective collaboration with key stakeholders to shape a compelling brand vision and for communicating that vision with passion and energy inside and outside the company.

The role demands good leadership qualities, resilience, high levels of cross functional collaboration and an ability to work strategically and operationally.

Essential Functions

  • Responsibility for development and implementation of EU & RoW marketing strategies and tactics to optimise product performance and patient benefit:
    • Co-Lead the EU / RoW Brand Team, drive engagement with country teams and the extended cross-functional team
    • Maintain focus on the agreed key strategic priorities, whilst maintaining flexibility to act on market insights / developments
    • Develop promotional materials and advocacy programmes
    • Monitor the implementation of the product plan to ensue execution is both efficient and effective and provide corrective solutions where necessary to maintain or exceed plan
    • Anticipate future trends in market dynamics, therapeutic approaches and healthcare professional needs, and ability to adapt strategies and plans accordingly
    • Develop and implement of the congress plan to ensure it is delivered effectively
    • Ensure all internal and external materials are programmes are reviewed and approved in accordance with Jazz Pharmaceuticals standard operating procedures
  • Development and implementation of EU & RoW marketing strategies and tactics to optimise product performance, market opportunities and patient benefit:
    • Maintain focus on the agreed key strategic priorities encompassing programmes targeting all groups HCPs, whilst maintaining flexibility to act on market insights / developments
    • Develop advocacy programmes to support the objectives of the product
    • Monitor the implementation of the product plan to ensue execution is both efficient and effective and provide corrective solutions where necessary to maintain or exceed plan
    • Anticipate future trends in market dynamics, therapeutic approaches and healthcare professional needs, and ability to adapt strategies and plans accordingly
    • Oversee the development and implementation of the congress plan to ensure it is delivered effectively

  • Act as the champion for the brand, responsible for effective collaboration with key stakeholders to shape a compelling brand vision:
    • Participate and actively lead brand development initiatives at the global and regional level
    • Build high performing partnerships with EU & RoW Medical Affairs team, Regulatory, Legal, Compliance, Finance, L&D, Strategic Planning, US commercial and medical teams
    • Actively collaborate with country management teams to build relationships, trust and two-way communication to ensure commitment and alignment to strategy and the allocation of resources
    • Promote the exchange of information and ideas globally throughout sales, marketing and medical functions

  • Further build the reputation of Jazz Pharmaceuticals as a partner in haematology across the region:
    • Ensure credibility and professionalism in all product communication activities and materials
    • Build collaborative relationships with key opinion leaders and relevant medical societies

  • Operate within agreed budgets ensuring optimal investment of promotional resources:
    • Deliver effective financial planning and control in the preparation and execution of the plan. Monitor and analyse the impact of activities in order to maximise effectiveness
    • Work with the finance team to ensure that planned expense estimates are accurate and regularly updated to reflect deviations from plan
    • Manage agencies and contractors effectively to ensure high quality outputs and value for money

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proven background in Oncology and/or haematology, ideally in an Orphan Drug context
  • Proven experience in pharmaceutical marketing role with strategic responsibility
  • Excellent problem solving and decision making skills to identify, understand and propose plans to address business issues
  • Strong leadership and project management abilities
  • Proven ability to 'partner' successfully with broad cross-functional teams
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentations to large groups, attention to detail and ability to understand, interpret and explain clinical data.
  • Ability to set goals, prioritise activities, and establish/meet challenging timelines
  • Resilient, works well and delivers under pressure

Required/Preferred Education and Licenses

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (Life Science preferred)

Description of Physical Demands

  • Responsibilities may require working outside of “normal” hours, in order to meet business demands.
